Fred Thompson - my dad died on 29th July 2006 aged 77 after a short battle against cancer.
He lived all his life in the Oldham area. His last job was as a Market Inspector at Oldham Market.
He had many friendships that went back 50 years and he valued those pals very much. After losing my mum 12 years ago he became a keen bowler and enjoyed cooking, however the three special people in his life where his grandchildren Matt and Vicki and his great granddaughter Chloe. He had 6 special years with her for which I am eternally grateful.
I miss "Pops" every day .

My Grandad was truly my best friend and I have the privelege to say he was my Grandad. I also have the job of looking after his precious great-grandaughter Chloe, we miss you every day especially Sunday's they're just not the same without the white knuckle ride down to mums house. I hope you and grandma are having a good party up there with your friends that have now joined you. Its nice being able to talk to you too now, i hope you and my grandad are not misbehaving. Its lovely having Vicky and Barbara closer in our lives it makes our family and your family slightly bigger.
